Sadaqah Learn more

Sadaqah in Islam means “righteousness” and is a voluntary charity given to please Allah. Sadaqah also describes a voluntary charitable act towards others, whether through generosity, love, compassion or faith. These acts are not necessarily physical or monetary. Simple good deeds such as a smile, making dua for someone, or a helping hand, are seen as acts of Sadaqah.

"(The righteous are those) who feed the poor, the orphan and the captive for the love of God, saying: We feed you for the sake of God Alone; we seek from you neither reward nor thanks." (Quran, 76:8-9)
